The Secure File Sharing and Storage System is designed around the simple idea
that each document or file in the system is
associated with a specific Customer (or Project).
When initially setting up the system and whenever else as new needs arise,
the system administrator creates one or more Customers (or Projects).
When a file or message is added into the system, it is assigned to one or more of these
Customers (or Projects):
Each Customer (or Project) has a number of key settings:
-
File Retention - You can set how long you would like to store files/messages for the
Customer (or Project) on the server. When the expiration date that
you set has passed for a file or message, the file or message will be automatically deleted from the system by a
scheduled process.
-
Maximum Upload Size - You can set the maximum individual file/message upload size and the maximum size of
the total upload for the Customer (or Project). These settings allow
you to control the use of server resources.
-
File Encryption - You can set the level of encryption used to encrypt the files/messages
that are stored on the server (to meet HIPAA requirements). The system uses AES encryption
with 128 or 256 bit keys. (While files are in transit, they are protected by SSL
encryption.)
You can configure an upload notification email for each Customer (or Project).
You can add the email addresses of System Users to the list of people who will
be informed when new files or messages have been added into the system for the
Customer (or Project):
